A Dewatering Screw Press is a robust and energy-efficient mechanical device used to separate liquids from solids in a wide range of industrial slurries and fibrous materials.
It is particularly effective in processes where high moisture content needs to be reduced to improve handling, reduce disposal costs, or prepare material for further processing such as drying, composting, or incineration.
At its core, the machine operates on the principle of pressure-driven separation using a slow-moving screw housed inside a perforated or slotted cylindrical screen. As the material is fed into the press, the screw gradually pushes it forward through zones of increasing pressure.

Process Flow
The slurry — sludge, pulp, biomass, or organic waste — is fed into the inlet of the screw press from the hopper or an upstream tank.
The rotating screw conveys material forward while the narrowing geometry or reducing pitch gradually compresses the feed, building pressure progressively.
As pressure builds, liquid is forced out through the perforated screen surrounding the screw. Separation rate is optimized based on material type and polymer conditioning.
The dewatered solid exits as a dry cake at the press outlet. Extracted liquid (filtrate) is collected separately for reuse, treatment, or disposal.
